Difficulty: Easy, Medium, Hard, and Toxic

Difficulty controls how many of the 49 tiles drop each round, how many rounds each board lasts, and how many tiles are left standing at the end of it. It also recolors the board, changing the look of the lava and the rock so you always know what mode you are in.

Easy gives you the gentlest climb: seven tiles drop per round across six rounds, with a cash-out decision after every one. Medium and Hard trade survival odds for speed — bigger drops, fewer rounds, steeper multiplier steps. Toxic skips the journey entirely: 48 of the 49 tiles drop at once, and only one survives. Call it correctly and a single pick pays 48.02×.

The multiplier jump between levels depends on your difficulty — specifically, on how many tiles were left standing when you cleared the board: the entire ladder scales by 49 ÷ tiles left standing.
